There

“There” is a good but confusing book written and illustrated by Marie-Louise Fitzpatrick. This book is about a little kid who is wondering what it will be like when you get there. The kid is also wondering how he will be able to get there. I had two connections to this book, one was a text to self-connection, and the other connection was a text to text connection. The text to self-connection was when the kid was wondering when he will get there and how he would get there. This reminds me of when I went to London and Rome and I was wondering how long it would take to get there and how I would get there. The other connection that I had was a text to text connection. The part in the book where the kid was wondering how to train a dragon. I  liked this book because you had to listen very well and you could leave your mind imagining what he was talking about. I really enjoyed this book.

The Fantastic Undersea Life Of Jacques Cousteau

The Fantastic Undersea Life Of Jacques Cousteau is a fantastic book written and illustrated by  Dan Yacccarina. is a book about a man named Jacques Cousteau. Jacques Cousteau explored the ocean and he really likes the ocean so he started inventing a thing that would help him show the world to the ocean like how he saw it so he made waterproof cameras and oxen tanks so they can swim freely. So you are not tethered to the boat. the connections I made to the story was I like the ocean to and I really like to dive and snorkel and I have read a lot of books that the main character like to swim. that’s why I really liked the book.

Connections Enemy Pie

I have a few connections between the picture book “Enemy Pie” by Derek Munson. In the book, The boy had an enemy named “Jeremy Ross”. In my life, I had a couple of people that I didn’t like or hated. Though I became friends with them to see if they were nice. When I became friends, I was happy because of they nice so we became good friends. This book also reminds me of the first time I had dinner with my friend. It also reminds me of when I asked my friends if they want to play because, in this book, the boy asks Jeremy if he wanted to play. In the book the boy and Jeremy spend a day together, they have dinner and plan to play again tomorrow. This book reminded me of some things in my past and I really enjoyed reading this book.

Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress

Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress is writing by  Christine Baldachino and illustrated by Isabelle Malenfant. I think the book is about being true to who you are. Morris loves going to school and he loves painting, an sing the loudest he can and most of all he loves wearing the tangerine dress and when he wears it at school he gets bullied people say that he can’t wear it because he is a boy. The tangerine dress reminds him of the sun. Then when morning he got a stomach ache because he was thinking about the kids in his class making fun of him. then the next day he did not listen to them and wear the dress to school to and had his own fun. I rate this book a 9/10.

What Do You Do With An Idea

“What Do You Do With An Idea“by Kobi Yamada illustrated by Mae Besom. This book is about a little boy who had an idea but he didn’t know what to do with it so he left it alone but it followed him. He was nervous what people would think about his idea so he acted like he never had an idea but he felt happier when it was around. the idea wanted to play, it wanted a lot of attention and when he gave the idea attention his idea. then he showed people his idea and they  laugh and said it was a waste of time and he almost listened to them but then he thought the are Wong so he keep working with  the idea and it went in to the real world. I like the book because he did not  listened I think the book is for 4-9 year old.

Chopsticks

“Chopsticks”  is written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and illustrated by Scott Magoon. This book is about a pair of chopsticks who are inseparable. All of their friends say that they have never seen them apart but one day they are trying a new move on a piece of asparagus and one of the chopsticks broke his leg. Then the Wisk whisked him away to the hospital. The other chopstick stays by him all the time. Some days he would stay by his side for the whole day. His chopsticks friend told him to go outside and explore without him and tell him the stories of the outside world. So he went outside and tried new things by himself like, playing hockey,  and using a catapult. He came back to the hospital when his partner was all better and they were back together.  I think this book is for younger kids. I liked this book cause it was filled with puns and it focused on independence even if you are not used to it.
